On my way to the airport this morning. I was pondering the last year, and reminiscing all that the Lord has done in my life. I couldn’t believe I was about to fly to Kansas. I’ve never desired to, or had a need to go to Kansas.
But I don’t mind going because I am convinced Kansas isn’t too far away from heaven- I personally know that angels live there.
Many of you know the story of how I met these Angels. I wrote a blog before I left for the race about our divine appointment when we met.
It all started in a Walmart parking lot.
For those who don’t know, here is the short version…
My car broke down one night before the race in a Walmart parking lot. I had just finished an intense game of ultimate frisbee with my youth kids and naturally we needed to go stock up on pizza and junk food before the slumber party shenanigans began. As soon as I shut off my car my radiator hose exploded and the smoke signal flared from under my hood.
I sat in dismay yelling at God- how could you possibly be glorified through this?! Huh?! I’m trying to sell this piece of junk- to make money- to go on this trip- that YOU asked me to go on!
Through my windshield I could see a man approaching my car, probably coming to inquire if I was ok or needed help.
After some time and good conversion the man volunteered to help me repair my car.
You see, this sweet man and his precious wife had parked their rig on the outskirts of the Walmart parking lot and had planned to stay the night. They are truck drivers.
I believe God had it on his radar for us to meet at that exact moment that night. Who would of known the story that would soon unfold.
The next day he fixed my car and motioned to send me on my way. I asked them if I could pray for them- it was the least I could do for all they had done for me. Upon leaving his wife slipped a small piece of paper in my hand, I put it in my pocket and said my goodbyes.
I sat at the red light curious as to what she handed me and took it out to have a look.
I laid eyes on a check made out to me in the amount of $1,000.00…. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I sat there for some time and just wept.
Here I was cursing the God that was about to bless me bigger than I could of ever imagined.
I found the address located on the check and wrote my angels a thank you card. I don’t know what I did to deserve this but I was eternally grateful.
This couple later donated $500.00 more dollars which put me over the mark of being FULLY FUNDED for my race. In 6 short months the Lord had blessed me with the full $16,000.00 I needed for my trip.
I often try to fit the pieces together and figure out why God brought them into my life. I sit in disbelief that I even deserve them sometimes. But I can feel God smiling down on me as if to say, this is only because I love you. I believe every good and perfect thing comes from above. And this is only a token of his love for me.
I believe God orchestrated this series of events for Kingdom purpose. We have all four partnered together to bring his Kingdom to earth.
Not only did my angels support my trip, they supported me monthly while I was gone so I could enjoy every aspect of my journey. They provided me money for food, basic necessities and fun excursions. They provided me with a brand new lap top in month 5 when mine crashed. And now they are flying me up to Kansas to see them for the weekend.
I recently reached out to them and asked if they would partner with me as I pursue a life of missions and enter into this next chapter of CGA. (see previous blog)
They were so on board and full of excitement for this new season and agreed to donate my first $3,000.00!!!
I was blown away at the Lords faithfulness. I start the program in 2 weeks and they asked that we have 3,000 upon coming. When I hung up the phone with them all I could was weep. I was overjoyed and overwhelmed with thankfulness and excitement.
Friends I tell you all this to encourage you.
Hebrews 10:23 says ” He who promised IS faithful.
I had no idea how the Lord would meet my needs for the race OR CGA. But I constantly stand in awe at his goodness and his faithfulness. I can’t imagine what the journey looks like ahead but I know he has been good, he IS good, and he will keep being good.
This is just a piece of MY story. Your story may look different. People often tell me, while laughing- man I need to go hang out at Walmart more.. I need those people in my life..God will be faithful to you- just as he is to me, it just might be in a different way.
The money has been a HUGE blessing, and so much help. But money aside these people are still incredible. They are still my angels, and some of my dearest friends. Not only did God provide my needs through our meeting but he provided them with eternal life.
They have grown to have a deep relationship with God and experience him in incredible ways. They have listened to the audible bible twice since I’ve been gone, gotten plugged into a local church that they love, and they’ve invited their kids and family to join into this holy union with them and the Lord. Their hunger for more inspires me. Their obedience encourages me. And their sacrifice challenges me.
These are people who believe in me, they believe in the organization I’m partnering with, and they too believe God IS faithful. We are all on our own journey but each very expectant that God is bringing the Kingdom here through us.
They are some of the sweetest, most patient, caring, loving people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing.
Just two truck drivers I met in a Walmart parking lot.
I don’t know what you’re going through or what challenges you’re facing. But these angels exist and they’re everywhere. Keep your eyes, your ears, and your heart opened to these people that are all around you. Don’t be afraid to be honest, pray for people, or share your story. Not that we should do anything to receive a blessing- But God just loves to bless us and he will.
I laugh when I think about that night. Sitting in my car asking God- WHY GOD?! WHY!?
But now I see why. I see how he was working behind the scenes to intertwine our lives to create this beautiful work. I see his goodness in the kindness of a stranger. I see angels in what we call a broken world. I see obedience through the act of giving. I see love from people who barely know me and yet treat me as their own child. I see now there is a bigger picture, and God is just allowing us to work along side him to show people what heaven looks like.
You never know where these angels are hiding. But they’re there. Trust that God is a good God. He wants to love you and provide for you, and he does- it just might look different than you’d expect.
If you’d like to partner with this couple and be angels also you can do so by clicking the donate button on the left hand side. There you can support me one time or monthly as I continue the work the Lord has called me to. Join me in bringing heaven to earth as He continues to refine the work he is doing in me through CGA. Thank you for following, praying, and supporting me through this journey. And thank you my sweet angels for everything you do for me, and making me feel so loved. Kansas will forever have a place in my heart.
